Betty Tabor Crawford
March 27, 1943 – March 9, 2014
Betty Crawford died at Huntsville Hospital on Sunday March 9th, surrounded by her loving family. A Huntsville native and nearly lifelong resident of Madison County, she graduated from Huntsville High School in 1961. She was married to Leon Crawford, and celebrated fifty years of marriage in 2012. Betty will be remembered most as a devoted wife, a loving Mom and Grandma, but simply as a very good friend to many. One of her best traits was her willingness to help others, and the selfless attitude that she had when she did. Her kindness will be missed and her passing will leave an empty spot in the lives of the many people that were touched by her willingness to make them a part of her life. Betty recently became a Christian and was a member of the Chase Park Church of Christ. Two things that put a smile on her face while she was battling her sickness were her grandchildren and her recent baptism.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Leon Crawford and her parents Gordon and Earlene Tabor. She is survived by her son Michael L. Crawford and his wife Lynn Crawford and two granddaughters Mallory Crawford and Tara Crawford, all of Huntsville. She also had one brother, Bill Tabor and his wife Ruby of Norfolk Virginia.
Services will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home on Friday March 14th. Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, with a memorial service immediately following.
