But the love of his life was BooBoo! Around June 2016, John mentioned that he had thought about getting himself a dog. Just a few weeks later, he looked out a window and saw a little puppy lying on his shoes he had left outside. The pup's mother had taken her litter for a walk and somehow this little fellow had been left behind. He won John's heart. From then on, if you were around John he would tell you about BooBoo. And, he would often sit in the swing with his arm wrapped around BooBoo's neck and be heard to say, "I love you BooBoo."
John is survived by his wife, Elaine, and their two sons: Jonathan Kent Reed (Lee Ann) and Adam Duane Reed (Kristen); his grandchildren: Jonathan's children Nicholas (Lindsey), Nathan (Katrina), Noah, and NeelyGrace; and Adam's children Adam (Payton), Lindsay Kate, Landon,
