Jon Emery
Holderman
March 21, 1942 – November 6, 2024
Jon Holderman, Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather
Jon was a loving father, devoted husband, and cherished grandfather who peacefully passed away on November 6, 2024, at the age of 83.
Born on March 21, 1942, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, Jon dedicated his life to serving his country and pursuing his passion for science. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 25 years, retiring in May 1985 as a Master Sergeant. During his service, he attended the University of Tampa and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1973.
After his military career, Jon transitioned into a successful role as a rocket engineer at Boeing, making significant contributions to the development of the Hellfire missile. He enjoyed 25 years in this position before retiring to spend quality time at home with his family.
Jon was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Suki (Pak) Holderman, with whom he shared a rich and fulfilling partnership that lasted an impressive 42 years. Their relationship was rooted in love, respect, and countless shared memories. In addition to Suki, Jon is survived by his four sons: Cris Holderman (Brittaney), David Holderman of Huntsville, Scott Holderman (Jayme) of Naples, Florida, and Jonnie Holderman (Isayana) of Lake Placid, Florida, as well as three daughters: Pam Holderman of Greer, South Carolina, Denise Bigelow of Marco Island, Florida, and Lisa Holderman.
He took immense pride in his fourteen grandchildren, even caring for two of them when they were only six weeks old. To say he cherished every moment with them would be an understatement. His grandchildren include Emery, Marley, Kiley Maddux, Gavin, Devon, Lincoln, Isla, Jennifer Spencer, Jessie Garneau, Jacki Garneau, Christina, and Matthew.
Additionally, he is survived by his two siblings: Janet Tressler (Bill) from Arkansas and Beverly Wilson of Bellefonte.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Mildred (Tierney) Holderman; his sister, Phyllis Ream; three brothers, Charles, Marlin, and Donald Holderman; and his grandson, Corey Holderman.
A man of strong faith, Jon's unwavering belief in God guided him throughout his life, providing peace to our family knowing he is now in his eternal home with our Heavenly Father, and that we will reunite one day.
Jon epitomized the true meaning of "Father"—a simple word that carries an everlasting and impactful role. He was a gentle soul with a heart of gold, possessing a unique ability to make everyone feel loved, valued, and heard. His warm hugs, wise counsel, candidness, and love for trips to Costco will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
