CW3 William {Bill}Brooks, passed from this life to spend eternity with his Lord on April 29, 2020. He was 83 years old.
Bill was born on June 6, 1936 in El Paso, TX. He was career military and served his country in the Vietnam conflict. On December 23, 1955, Bill married his high school sweetheart Sammy Hughes. They raised two sons, Jim and Bryan.
Bill lived a full and rich life. One of his proud achievements was becoming an Eagle Scout. He served his country in the Air Force and Army for a total of 25 years, achieving the rank of CW3. While in the Army, Bill earned a BS Degree in Business. Bill retired from Boeing as a security specialist after he retired from the Army. He loved football and was a diehard fan of the Crimson Tide. He loved to paint (mainly landscapes and lighthouses), work in his shop, and was a student of military history. Bill loved helping others and was involved in benevolence programs and disaster relief efforts through the Southern Baptist Convention. He was also a member of The Sons of the American Revolution.
He is survived by his wife Sammy, his sister Jeanne of Little Rock, AR, son Jim and Aileen of Louisville, KY, Bryan and Brenda of Meridianville, AL, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A family service will be held at Little Rock National Cemetery in Little Rock, AR this summer, where his ashes will be buried with his mother and father.
