Aiden James
Higdon
May 10, 2006 – July 6, 2024
Aiden James Higdon, known by his friends and family as AJ, passed away on July 6, 2024, after a tragic accident. AJ had an appreciation for the small intricacies of the world, and he impacted individuals in a remarkable way. Always living life to the fullest, AJ believed it was something to never be taken for granted. As he often said, "Everybody dies, so you can live while dying or be dead while living."
Although his life was abruptly cut short, AJ's quality of his existence greatly surpassed the time everybody had with him. AJ was a helper and a friend,
someone who never turned down the opportunity to help. Bright inside and out, AJ's dimples and brilliant smile melted the hearts of those around him. His perspective on life, calming demeanor, and well-thought approach to others far exceeded his age. AJ's life was a positive lesson and the epitome of kindness; supporting others beyond expectation.
With AJ's unexpected passing, we are reminded that life is to be celebrated. His giant hugs and wisdom beyond his years will be missed endlessly. AJ was a gift to the world, his memory everlasting in our minds. He gave us the greatest honor, allowing us to be affected by him. Being his parent, sister, brother, relative, or friend, AJ showed each of us a better side of life.
AJ was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert DeHaye, Sr. He is survived by his father, Will Higdon, and stepmother, Laura DeHaye; mother, Danielle Killgore, and step-father, Scott Killgore; siblings: Harper Higdon, Hunter Higdon, Zachary DeHaye, Cassedy Farrell, Jaxon Graham, Hannah Graham, Kayleigh Killgore, Kamryn Killgore; grandmother, Barbara DeHaye; aunts and uncles: Katrina and Jim Hall, Margaret DeHaye, Bobby and Christy DeHaye, and Elizabeth and Matt Pierce; many cousins, a large, loving extended family, and numerous friends.
A celebration of AJ's life will be held at the Monte Sano State Park Lodge, on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society.
