Allen John Cathey passed away in Huntsville, AL on May 22, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on March 4, 1955, in Gadsden, AL, Allen was a beloved son of Andrew and Caroline Cathey.

Allen's journey in life was marked by various passions and accomplishments. He graduated from Lee High School and went on to become an avid supporter of Auburn University, displaying his unwavering dedication as a true Auburn fanatic. In his leisure time, Allen found solace and joy on the golf course, where he honed his skills and forged lasting memories.

Professionally, Allen excelled as a part owner and warehouse manager at State Beauty Supply, Additionally, he was a respected member of the Elks Lodge 1648.

Allen was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Melody Hooper Cathey, his brother Andrew Barrett Cathey Jr., and his sister Anne Cathey Pollard. He now joins them in eternal peace alongside his parents, Andrew and Caroline Cathey.

Allen's memory lives on through his surviving brother, Alexander Martin Cathey Sr.; his nieces, Xan Pollard Curran, Lauren Cathey Cloar, Monica Hooper Land, Tracy Tucker and Leslie Fincher; his nephews, Alexander Martin Cathey, jr., Jay Fincher and Barrett Cathey; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. His legacy will be remembered and celebrated by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service to honor and remember Allen's life will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 11 am at Valley View Memorial Gardens, located at 139 Meridianville Bottom Road, Meridianville, AL 35750.
