Alta Marie Blevins Scott of Vestavia, Alabama; passed away on Sunday - March 23, 2025 at the age of 104 years.

Mrs. Scott was born on January 26, 1921 to the late Eddie L. Blevins and Vinnie Elizabeth Bell Blevins in Ider, Alabama. Mrs. Scott was wed to the love of her life Varian C. Scott Jr. on December 17, 1949. Alta earned several degrees throughout her lifetime a couple being a B. S. Library Science University of Alabama 1948 as well as a M.S. Library Science Alabama A&M University. Alta worked for several decades in scientific Libraries associated with NASA and Army Missile Command; she was also a member of University of Alabama National Alumni Association as well as a longtime loyal supporter of University's athletic programs.

Mrs. Scott is survived by one son Varian C Scott III MD married Kathy Lyn Janney 7/21/79; Two grandsons Varian C Scott IV and Sean Matthew Scott; as well as one Granddaughter, Madelyn Grace Scott

Mrs. Scott is at last reunited with her beloved husband; Varian C. Scott; as well as her parents; Eddie L. Blevins and Vinnie Elizabeth Bell Blevins; as well as siblings; Lola Mae Blevins Rogers, Rhonwyn Fay Blevins Hall, Gladstone Yewell Blevins, Cuba Lucile Blevins Goggin, Annie Bell Blevins, H C Blevins, Ruby Alene Blevins Shadden, Edsel Ford Blevins, E L Blevins and Betty June Blevins Campbell

A visitation honoring Mrs. Scott will take lace on Saturday - March 29, 2025 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 1st, beginning at 3:00 PM at Fuller Cemetery in Ider, AL.
