Ann left this world for a better place at the age of 93, on December 26, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years John Stanley Fee; parents, Fred R. McAlister, Sr. and Estelle H. McAlister; and brother and sister-in-law, Fred R. McAlister, Jr. and Lillian McAlister.
Ann is survived by her three children: John (Carol), Sharon Welker (Jody), Douglas; grandchildren: Anna Welker, Joe (Jen) Welker, Cody (Kim) Fee and Allie (Violet T) Fee and beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Ann was a woman of faith and service, creating a life of caring for family, friends, church and community. Ann and Stan had a home of hospitality, enjoying their children and grandchildren with interest and involvement in their lives, celebrating milestones, offering care and love.
Ann was an active church member serving as an elder at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and member with First Presbyterian Church Huntsville. Ann was an exemplary teacher and served with pride and integrity on the Huntsville City School Board. In addition, she served well with many civic organizations including Learning QUEST, Constitution Hall Park, Presbyterian Apartments, Huntsville Botanical Garden Guild and Huntsville Museum of Art Docents. She had boundless energy and skills focusing on volunteering in service of children such as the Child Advocacy Center, scholarship committee for DAR, and always supporting programs to help feed children such as Backpack Ministry.
The family thanks the following for exceptional care: Dr. Greg Batson, therapists of Huntsville Hospital Home Care, and Dr. Mansi and the SICU nurses at Crestwood Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM First Presbyterian Church (FPC) Huntsville (Gideon Blackburn House 402 Lincoln Street corner of Gates & Lincoln). A reception on location follows.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated for Presbyterian Home for Children; PO Drawer 577; Talladega, AL 35161.
