Ann McCullars Marlow

May 31, 1939 – July 2, 2026

Gloria Ann McCullars Higginbotham Marlow; simply ANN to those who knew her, was born in Lincoln, Alabama to JC and Lucille McCullars on May 31, 1939. She graduated from Lincoln High School achieving academic excellence, was Editor of the yearbook, Head Cheerleader and Most Athletic. Ann attended Jacksonville State University where she was studying to be a teacher when she married her first husband Jerry Higginbotham. The two embraced military life living on bases around the country and across the globe before settling in Huntsville, Alabama. Ann worked in real estate, and as an administrative assistant for Teledyne Brown Engineering before “retiring” and assisting her second husband Bonnie Marlow with Marlow’s Home Repair. An avid sports fan, her allegiance was with her beloved Auburn Tigers. This young-at-heart, engaging lifeforce embraced living – accepting all of life’s challenges with grace and determination. She was proud of her eight “urchins”, twelve grand children, and thoroughly enjoyed her eight great-grandchildren.

 Ann is preceded in death by her parents; JC and Lucille McCullars, her brothers; Howard and Bobby, sister-in-law Marty (Howard) McCullars, husbands; Jerry Higginbotham and Bonnie Marlow. She is survived by her children; Joey Marlow (Lee), Sharon Ayers, Laura Kynerd (John Watz), Glinda Harden, Teresa Price (Geff), Jeff Marlow, Mark Higginbotham (Margie), Johnny Marlow (Adrienne). Her grandchildren; Matthew Malone (Lauren), Christopher Harden, Randi Osborn (David), Casey Kynerd, Ericka Harden (Tjay Fellows), Jordan Marlow, Elizabeth Matzek (Miller), Courtney Marlow, Rachel Higginbotham (Patrick Armstrong), Michael Marlow, Andrew Higginbotham, and Autumn Marlow. Her great-grandchildren; Emerson Malone, Charlotte Malone, Wyatt Osborn, Sage Grace Matzek, Waylon Fellows, Wrenly Osborn, Palmer Ann and Piper Lee Matzek.
