Obituary

Ann Stiles White, age 77, passed peacefully from this life into Jesus' rest on June 11, 2025. Her passing was as she lived, filled with love and peace.

Ann was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Steve, for over 57 years. She raised her sons with a "mother's love" that included gentleness, kindness, and to be not only gentlemen, but "gentle-men". Ann was a doting grandmother whose granddaughters could do no wrong in her eyes. Her great-grandson, Silas Gideon Vann, brought her great joy for the last two years.

Ann mirrored the gentle strength of her own mother, Louise McGehee, carrying forward a legacy of love, service, and unwavering support. She lived her life as a helper—someone who consistently showed up for everyone, building a pattern of kindness that she passed down to her granddaughters with great care and intention. That pattern, rooted in generations, became a foundation for the family—one that will continue to guide and nurture for years to come. Though she was our Nanny, she always met us right where we were—whether it was sitting on the floor for a picnic, letting us style her hair into wild creations, or sharing mini pancakes with sugar-free syrup and after-school McDonald's runs. Every Christmas Eve morning, we'd gather in our pajamas for homemade breakfast, a tradition full of warmth and tenderness that we will carry on. She loved to travel, especially to the Smoky Mountains, making memories across the country with her beloved husband. A devoted mother to two sons, proud grandmother to four granddaughters, and adoring great-grandmother to one great-grandson, Ann's nurturing spirit reached across generations. Despite the size of our family, she never missed a moment—she was involved in everything and always there to support us. Her presence was a gift, and she will remain a guiding light in our lives.

Most of all, Ann's life was about serving her God. God bestowed upon her the gift of the Holy Ghost on June 25, 1981. She then spent the next 44 years serving God faithfully and was a member of the Park City Holiness Church at the time of her passing.

Ann was predeceased by her parents, Joe Stiles Sr. and Milam McGehee, and Louise Swafford Stiles McGehee; her brother, Joe Stiles Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Ginger Lovvorn White; and her father-in-law, who loved her like a daughter, Barbee White.

Ann is survived by her husband, Steve White; her children, Stephen (Gina) White and Brian (Cheryl) White; her grandchildren, Alexandra (Justin) Vann, Marrah White, Britton White, and Erin White; and her great-grandson, Gideon Vann. Her brothers, John (Diana) Stiles and Walter (Sherry) McGehee, sister-in-law Faye Stiles, and her daughter-by-choice Andrea (Charles) Mitchell, along with Andrea's children Lily (Joey) Kieffer and Autumn Mitchell.

Ann is also survived by her special aunt, Virginia Counts, a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as her mother-in-law, whom she referred to as "other mother", Peggy White, her brother and sister-in-law, Ginger (Terry) Duvall and Ronnie (Allison) White.
