Annette "Anne" Creque Sanders (December 29, 1938 – August 22, 2024)
Anne Sanders, 85, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on August 22, 2024.
Services will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm with Dr. Michael Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Anne was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, the first of six children, born to Mamie Janet and John Milton Creque. She graduated from Butler High School in 1957, and soon thereafter, joined the workforce at Martin Stamping and Stove. Anne married C.E. Sanders Jr. in 1960 and they were blessed with three children, born in 1961, 1962, and 1963. Anne also worked for the Social Security Administration and finished her professional work life at Teledyne Brown Engineering as a well-respected Executive Secretary.
Anne's entire life was devoted to her family. She made sure that her children had the very best, no matter how hard the times. Her unconditional love was extended to her beloved husband of 49 years and continued on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to spending time with her loving family, Anne enjoyed shopping, fashion, watching television, and listening to music.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Janet and John Creque, and her husband C. E. Sanders Jr. She is survived by her children: Marla Sanders of Nashville, Mitzi Taylor (Rick) of Madison, and C.E. Sanders III, aka Mickey (Suzie) of Huntsville: Her grandchildren, Dr. Jordan Taylor (Caroline) of Huntsville, Morgan Taylor (Alex) of Birmingham, Sydney Taylor of Huntsville, Ben Sammons of Equality, AL. and Mary Calvert Hurd (Joshua) of Nashville. She is also survived by her great-granddaughters, Lane and Blair (Jordan & Caroline), Lucy Jane (Mary Calvert & Josh), and her siblings: Linda Creque of Huntsville, Barbara Spaulding of Meridianville, Johnny Creque of Mt. Juliet, TN., Pam Stiles of Huntsville and Pat Creque (Pam) of Palm Coast FL. She is also survived and loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Anne's children would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of The Neighborhood in Madison, Alabama. They have become 'family' in the past year and Anne could not have received better love and care during her time there. Also, donations to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice will be greatly appreciated, on Anne's behalf.
Anne (Mother), will be remembered for her big and caring heart, quick wit and always looking like the 'belle of the ball.'
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27th from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by service at 1:00 with Bro. Mike Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery..
