Obituary

Annie Elizabeth Elkins, 85,
of Gurley, died at home peacefully
in her sleep on June 13,
2015.

Visitation will be held at
Berryhill Funeral Home on
Tuesday, June 16th from 6:00
- 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be
held at Berryhill Funeral Home
on Wednesday, June 17th at
11:00 a.m. with Randy Pyle
and Tim Rice officiating. Burial
will follow at Green Valley
Cemetery in Big Cove.

Ann was born in Huntsville,
AL on June 6, 1930. She married
the love of her life, Thomas
A. Elkins on May 22, 1946.
She graduated from New
Hope High School in 1949
and was an office administrator
at W. T. Grant, J. C. Penney,
and Giles & Kendall. She loved
God, church, family, country,
and all people. She enjoyed
movies, reading, Scrabble,
flower gardening, cooking,
and spending time with family
and friends. She was generous
with her time, talents,
and money and hosted many
dinners for family and friends.
She was a hard worker and her
life exemplified the virtuous
woman in Proverbs 31.

Ann is preceded in death
by her parents, Roy Sr. and Ollie
Bee Osburn; two brothers,
Bill and Roy Osburn, Jr.; stepmother
Viola; her husband
of 48 years, Thomas A. Elkins;
and oldest son Timothy A. Elkins.

Survivors include: daughters
Judith Stringham and
Karen (Chuck) Mitchell, both
of Mansfield, TX; son Thomas
K. (Jamie) of Gurley; daughterin-law
Angie Elkins; brothers
James Alton (Juanita) of
Big Cove, Ralph (Norma) of
Arab, and Ray of Union Grove;
grandchildren Dwight (Kim)
Elkins, Nikki Elkins, Shannon
Elkins (Billy) Holley, and
Matthew Elkins; seven greatgrandchildren,
and a host of
cousins, nieces, and nephews.
