Anthony Carl Sweeton, affectionately called "Tony" by all that knew him, went to Paradise on July 3, 2026 at his home in Hazel Green, AL.

Tony was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on November 25, 1959. Born club-footed, his first of many surgeries started when he was just a few weeks old. At 5, Tony was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and later in life, with Multiple Sclerosis. Despite his many ailments and physical disabilities, Tony remained positive, hopeful, and full of joy.

Tony never met a stranger. If you were lucky enough to cross paths with him, you were sure to hear one of his legendary jokes. He loved to make people smile, laugh, and to brighten their day. Throughout his life, Tony made many friends that he always held dear to his heart. Each one of those friends made an impact on him and helped to shape him into the man he was. Although Tony was the man with all the jokes, he was also extremely intelligent and always eager to learn. He was full of trivia knowledge and said he "knew a little about a lot". Tony had an impeccable memory and excelled when it came to anything mathematical.

Tony was a lifelong lover of the Dallas Cowboys. Tony loved football and depending on which point in his life you had asked him, he was either a diehard Tennessee Vols or an Alabama fan. He was a car enthusiast who loved to talk about all types of cars and in his younger years would frequent drag strips. Tony loved classic rock, board games, old western shows, but above all else, he was a Christian and loved Jesus.

Tony married the love of his life, Kim, in November of 1980. Tony was best friends and madly in love with his wife until death parted them. He was a father to two children that he was incredibly proud of. Tony was an exceptional husband, father, and grandfather who centered his life around his family.

Tony was preceded in death by his father Carl "Gene" Sweeton and Melba Jean Baker Sweeton. He leaves behind his devoted wife Kim Berry Sweeton, his daughter Danie Bingham (Mike), his son Cameron Sweeton, his grandson Connor Bingham, his beloved aunt Hilda Burns, along with several aunts, cousins, extended family members and friends that loved him dearly.
