On 11 July 2026 in Huntsville Alabama, (Buck) BS Bannister Jr. died peacefully in his sleep. He was 88 years old. He is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. He was retired from the U.S. Army as a Major and a retired U.S. Postal employee, a Man of God, a Husband, Father, Grandfather.

He loved telling gardening, fishing, hunting, telling stories. He enjoyed helping others by volunteering through church activities throughout his life. Building homes with Habitat gave him much satisfaction.

He is preceded in death by his parents Buck and Orlena Belvin Bannister and six siblings. Mr. Bannister is survived by his wife Rena Meadows Bannister, children: Cheri Charbonneau (Tim), John Bannister (Debra), Sandra Knox (Earl), Kristie Denton (Darrell) Michael Johnson (Tina), Jennifer Hennessy (Michael) and Holly Johnson. Grandchildren; Ashleigh Denton, Mara Bannister, Brittany Wall (Zack), Kristina Doyle (Joe), Sarah Charbonneau, Jackson Rowan (Katie), Taylor Rowan, Amanda Thompson (Bartlett), Mitchell Morrison (Tara), Ella Johnson, Alena Johnson, Drew Miner, Roxanne Hennessy, Austin Johnson (Stevie) Klaire Johnson, Kallie Fama, Madison Fama, and Mollie Fama, great-grandchildren: Allison, Matthew, Madison and Casey Wall, Diana Cox, Chloe Charbonneau, Shepard and Sutton Thompson, Atlas Hufford, Therodora Johnson, and Brooks Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held 25 July 2026 at Berryhill Funeral Home, with internment being held later.
