Dr. Bennie Harold Pinckley, 92, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2026 with his bride of 72 years by his side. A devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, patriot, and friend, he lived a life marked by faith, service, and integrity. He was orn in Yuma, TN, October 1, 1933, to Eddie and MarySue Pinckley. He met his bride, Earline, at Freed-Hardeman University in 1952 and they were married in Wellston, Missouri, on August 28, 1953.

He is survived by his widow, Dr. Earline Watson Pinckley; his two daughters, Dr. Judy Rawls (Michael Rawls), Mrs. Linda Lawson (Larry Lawson); His sister, Joyce Blackwell; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

His career often took him around the globe, and he delighted in sharing those experiences with his family. Whenever possible he brought his family along, believing there was no better education than experiencing God's world together.

Bennie served the church at Memorial Parkway Church of Christ (now Chase Park Church of Christ) for 30 years as Bible class teacher, Deacon and Elder. In the last 20 years he has served the Madison Church of Christ as Deacon and member of the Missions Committee, including visiting numerous mission sites to encourage the work. Dr. Pinckley was instrumental in establishment of AGAPE and served on the AGAPE board for 30 years, as well as interim director for a year.

He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1957 as an electrical engineer and was immediately inducted into the United States Army as a second Lieutenant where he served until November 1960. After honorable separation from service he joined the HAWK Project Office where he worked for decades as a chief engineer and then Project Manager. He was promoted to Deputy Program Executive Officer for Army Air Defense as a member of the Senior Executive Service. He later transferred to Washington DC to work in the Pentagon where he was instrumental in setting up the Army Acquisition Corp and ultimately served as Director of Army Acquisition Career Management Agency.

He ended his career with the Army as the Army Chair, Defense System Management College. He continued his dedicated service to the nation by working with two defense contractors in support of the Department of Defense, retiring in February 1998.

Though his family will miss his steady presence, wise counsel, and unwavering love, they find comfort in the promise of the resurrection and rejoice in knowing that his faith has become sight.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AGAPE of North Alabama, the Pinckley preaching scholarship at Freed-Hardeman University, or to Heritage Christian University.

A Memorial Service honoring Bennie Harold Pinckley will be held at 12PM Wednesday, July 15th at Berryhill Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11AM – 12PM.  Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
