Beth Kay Stewart, 61, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband, Alan Stewart; children, Leah Shelnutt, and Jerimy Alan Stewart (Lindsey); grandchildren, Michael Congo, William Congo, and Nevaeh Stewart; sister, Holly Kane (Mark); nephews, Mark Kane, Peter Kane, Thomas Kane, Michael Maxheimer , Wesley Maxhiemer, David Maxhiemer, and Stuart Maxhiemer; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, Ronald and Marian Marshall; sister, Teri Maxheimer; and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Congo.

Beth was looking forward to retirement on September 30th, 2024 after 29 years of dedicated service to the Department of Defense.  She enjoyed many things in life but some of her favorite pastimes were shooting pool and being in the swimming pool.  She enjoyed trips to the beach and enjoyed Destin, Florida most of all.  She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Alabama Football and Oklahoma Football Fan.

The family will receive friends at Berryhill Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
