IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly Elaine
Guffey
November 6, 1941 – July 18, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and great love that we announce the passing of Beverly Elaine Guffey of Huntsville, Alabama, who entered eternal life on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on November 6, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, Beverly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Guffey; her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Guffey; her parents, Clarence and Gladiola Coutant; and her grandmother, Kathryn Benningfield. Beverly's life was marked by a deep devotion to her family and her faith, and she will be remembered for her quiet strength, her deep love, and her warm and gentle spirit.
She is survived by her children: Sherill Clontz (Craig), Kathryn England (Dave), and Thomas Guffey (Erin). Her beloved grandchildren are Steven Clontz (Jessica), Phillip Clontz (Christina), Laura Webb (Trent), Matthew England, Joshua England, Landon Ellis, Braeden Ellis, Reagan Ellis, Alexander Guffey, and Jude Guffey.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM in the Church Narthex. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Dedric Cowser.
Beverly will be interred beside her beloved husband at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 1:30 PM. The interment service will be officiated by Rev. Sherill Clontz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Beverly. The family offers heartfelt thanks to the staff of Brookdale Memory Care in Hampton Cove for their compassion and care in Beverly's final season of life. Your kindness and presence made a lasting difference.
So we mourn, but not as those without hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). While Alzheimer's may have taken much from her, it never took the deep love she held for her family or her memories of home. We rejoice in knowing that she is now home—safe, whole, and at peace.
