IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bruce Fredrick
Hill
May 25, 1948 – March 7, 2025
Bruce Frederick Hill, 76, passed away on March 7, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama, following a short illness from COVID-19 and viral pneumonia, complicated by previously undiagnosed cardiac damage.
Born on May 25, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, Bruce led a life marked by dedication to service and a passion for technology. He served in the U.S. Navy on active duty from 1968 to 1972 and continued his commitment as a Naval reservist until 1980. His decade of military service reflected his deep sense of duty and discipline.
Following his time in the Navy, Bruce built a distinguished career in aerospace and defense. He contributed to groundbreaking projects at Rockwell International, where he worked on the U.S. Space Shuttle program. His expertise also led him to roles at Raytheon, Lockheed, and Boeing, where he applied his knowledge and skills to advancing technological innovation.
Bruce was a lifelong learner who pursued higher education at multiple institutions throughout his life. His academic achievements culminated in a master's degree in computer science with a specialization in software security—a field that aligned with his keen analytical mind and technical acumen.
While traveling abroad, Bruce met his second wife in Shanghai, China—an experience that reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for different cultures.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 18 years Minlian Wang, Stepdaughter Yuanci Ji of Shanghai, China, twin sister Claudia L. Whitney Demith (Denny), his older brother Arthur E. Hill Jr. (Gale), nephews David A. Hill (Melanie) and Jason C. Hill (Kris), as well as grandnieces Lyla E. Hill and Maya A. Hill. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur E. Hill Sr. and Louise D. Mount (Hill)
Bruce's legacy lives on through the impact he made in both his professional field and among those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
