Candice Marie Chase Smith age 53, passed away in Madison, Alabama on August 24, 2025. She was born on November 25, 1971 in Long Branch, New Jersey. She was the only daughter of Norman and Jean Chase.

Candice was a loving mother to Cameron and Devon Smith. There is nothing she loved more than talking about her family, it didn't matter how many times she had told the story you could always tell how proud she was to be their mom. She loved anything outdoors and anything that included music and dancing. She was the best Mimi to her 3 grandchild always playing, laughing, and spoiling them any chance she got. As most as everyone knows she was always a big animal lover, her two recent cat babies, Malik and Wendell were a great joy in her life.

She graduated from the University of Alabama in 1997,  with a Bachelor of Science degree and continued on to work for the Federal Government for over 20 years. She was very proud of her career and accomplishments.

Candice is survived by her mother; Jean Chase, her two sons; Cameron Smith and Devon Smith (Kassidy Miller), her three grandchildren; Chase Smith, Jude Smith, and Koda Atkins. She was preceded in death by her father; Norman William Chase, her grandmothers; Edith Graham and Mary Culp Williams her grandfathers; Norman Burton Chase and James Hollis Williams.

A viewing of Candice Chase Smith will be held on Sunday, August 31st from 10am-1pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. She will have a private burial with her family in Clanton, Alabama, to be buried next to her father Norman Chase. Candice enjoyed all colors, her favorite color being purple. Her favorite flowers were tulips and buttercups but, she loved them all.
