Carl Edward Melton, 99, of Huntsville, went home to the lord,  November 24, 2023.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda of 54 years; children, Carla Huggins, Pat Sandy; grandchildren, Patrick Honey, Scott, Mark, and Kris Huggins; great grandchildren, Trinity Honey, Evyn Huggins; and a number of nieces, nephew, and extended family.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Walter; mother, Lydia; brothers, Walter, Tom; sister Betty; and son, Bill.

He joined the Marines in WW II, where he was wounded, and received the Purple Heart. Carl worked for NASA as a contracts specialist until his retirement. He was a charter member for the Alabama Disabled Veterans Association. Carl was an active member of Jackson Way Baptist Church. He coached ladies industrial league softball for years and kept in touch with many of the players until his passing.

Carl lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He was always ready to talk about God and give you words of encouragement.

It is hard to condense a full 99 years of life into a few lines. He lived, he loved, he worshiped God, and now he strolling through Heaven with him.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 11:00 to 1:00 PM. Services will follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Giles Memory Gardens, Pulaski, TN.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Jackson Way Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL or Liberty Methodist Church in Prospect, TN.
