Obituary

Carol Joan Dinkel, 88, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Marsha Jones; grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Matthew Jones (Moriah), Bryan Ochoa (Jenny), Daniel Williams (Andrea), Alex Dinkel, Curtis Dinkel, and Katelyn Dinkel; great-grandchildren, Destiny Self, Lawson Williams, Nate Williams, Kyler Ochoa, Callan Jones, Georgia Dinkel, Ellery Dinkel; brother, Kenny Vogts; son-in-law, Pedro Ochoa; daughter-in-law, Sharon Dinkel, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dinkel is preceded in death by her husband, John Dinkel; parents, Carl and Martha Vogts; daughter, Debra Ochoa; son, Rodney Dinkel; grandson, Benjamin Ochoa; and brothers, Don Vogts, Curtis Vogts, and Keith Vogts.

In her younger days, she spent her time as a waitress, always carrying a warm smile, and found joy on the dance floor, where she could let go and simply feel the music. As the years passed, her happiness blossomed in quieter ways—tending to her flowers with gentle care, nurturing them just as she did her children, watching both grow with pride and love.

Throughout her life, she found delight in the simple pleasures—gathering around for games of Bunco, Candyland, and Yahtzee, where laughter and togetherness mattered most. She also cherished the comfort of familiar routines, enjoying game shows and cheering on her favorite sports, moments that brought her both excitement and peace.

Her home became the heart of the family, especially each year when everyone gathered there for cherished, traditional holiday celebrations filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness. She especially loved baking and cooking for everyone, finding joy in bringing people together around her table and making sure no one ever left hungry.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will not be held following the service.
