IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Catherine
Hunter
April 1, 1942 – July 20, 2025
Catherine Parks Hunter was born to the late Earnest and Brownell Robinson Parks. She is the youngest of seven siblings who have preceded her in death: Earnest Jr., Lorenzo, Senell, Idella, Eliza and Elisha, Sr. She confessed hope in Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Saint Bartley P.B. Church.
During her childhood, her legendary nickname began. She received some red boots as a gift; she worn them whenever possible; they were her favorite which created the name "Little Boot". As time went on, family and friends continued to say the name and it evolved to "Lil Boo" and she lived up to it. She was a loving, elegant, hardworking, humorous individual that left an outstanding impact on your life when your paths crossed.
During the early 1970s her career started as a Draftsman in the defense industry for many years. In the early 1980s her life changed to embark on an adventurous journey with her husband, the late Willie H. Hunter. She and daughter, Robbie relocated abroad to Kuwait (Middle East area) for many years. As she lived and traveled the region, adapting to the culture, it provided an exhilarating lifestyle that she encountered with ease.
Upon returning to Huntsville, she set out to re-establish her humble beginnings. She continued her career briefly in the defense industry at Boeing and later as a contracting manager at Adtran. One of her greatest accomplishments was to SPOIL her grandchildren and that, She Did!
Left to cherish the many blessings and memories are: daughters, TiaWanda Parks Walker, Robbie Brown Bailey; son, Alfred Hereford, Jr.; grandsons, Terry Parks (Alicia), Taran Walker (Erica), Alfred Hereford, III and Kieran (deceased); great-grands, Sykeia, Tyrese, Io, Ma'Khia, Ka'Miah, Aaliyah, Ella, (Eriel and Erin with forthcoming stories to learn); great-great-grands, Aiden, Cinnque, Forgivnes, Iceland; nieces: Debra Covington (daughters: Tarae, Latrice, Neiel, Shalon (deceased), Valarie Fagan (daughters: Ashley, Jessica, Brazil) and Tracey Hyder (deceased) (daughter/son: Brandi (Noah) and Jasman); nephews: Charles Hyder, Jr. (Debbie) (daughters: Amira, Alexa, Aliecia); Jason Hyder, Sr. (Veronica) (son/daughter: Jason Jr., Brooklyn), Mark Haygood (son: Elizha), Michael Barnes, Emmitte Barnes (deceased) and Elisha Parks, Jr. (deceased) (son: Elisha III); along with a host of extended family & friends that are too many to name.
