Charles Perkins, 82, passed away on Monday, May 3rd. Charles was a loving husband of 50 years, father, brother and grandfather.
Charles joined the United States Air Force to see the world, serving in Vietnam with duty stations in Saudi Arabia, Portugal, and Berlin, Germany (where he met his wife). He retired, a Master Sergeant with over 20 years of service. Charles went on to have a successful career at Northrop, McDonnell Douglas and Boeing in Saudi Arabia for many years.
Chuck loved to travel, watch sports and sing. He sang gospel and folk music with the Troubadours in Asheville, North Carolina, visiting nursing homes in the area and bringing smiles to the resident's faces. People always remember his smile and wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
A private small family gathering will take place this summer to honor his memory and to scatter his ashes in the Atlantic Ocean as he wished. The family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in his memory.
