Connie Hamaker Bowling, 69, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Connie was born and raised in Ardmore, Alabama/Tennessee, as the youngest of eight siblings—four sisters and four brothers. She attended school in Ardmore and later married Robert Bowling on December 22, 1972. Shortly after their marriage, Robert joined the United States Navy, and the couple moved to Georgia. Following his service, they returned to Alabama, where they welcomed their daughter, Christy Lee, on July 29, 1975.

Connie and her family lived on Pine Avenue in Huntsville for many years before eventually moving to the countryside, where she remained for the rest of her life. She took great pride in caring for her mother and family, dedicating herself to their well-being.

She is survived by her daughter, Christy (David) Vess; her beloved grandchildren, Caleb Price Vess and Darby Kate Vess; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very special aunt, Clara "Caka" Stewart.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Issac Edward Hamaker and Katie Lee Hamaker, and her siblings: Carolyn (Bill) Bracken, Jean (Edward) Swinford, Helen (Billy Ray) Ikard, Melvin "Buddy" (Geraldine) Hamaker, Dean "Deano" (Lois) Hamaker, Dwight (Kathy) Hamaker, and Rodger (Jean) Hamaker.

Connie will be remembered for her devotion to family and the kindness she shared with those around her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 PM.
