Obituary

Darrell "Keith" Jennings, 74, of Harvest, Alabama, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital, surrounded by the family who adored him. Born on June 26, 1951, to the late Louis Ray and Lillian Frances Jennings, Keith spent his life in the Huntsville area, where his generous heart, steadfast loyalty, and gentle spirit left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Keith's work at Huntsville Pump Shop, where he specialized in gas pump installation, maintenance, and repair, reflected his reliability and dedication to the family business. Yet his true calling was found in caring for others. In his later years, he lovingly devoted himself to tending to his parents until their passing — a testament to his heart of gold and his deep sense of duty to family.

An outdoorsman through and through, Keith found peace and joy in the quiet of nature. Whether deer or turkey hunting, casting a line for smallmouth bass, or sharing stories from his many adventures, he cherished the simple beauty of life outdoors. He also had a lifelong fascination with history and proudly participated in Civil War reenactments alongside his late brother Randy — an experience that connected him to both his heritage and his love of storytelling.

Those who knew Keith will never forget his bright personality, quick wit, and contagious laugh. He had a gift for making everyone feel seen, valued, and cared for. To his children, grandchildren, and all who loved him, Keith was more than a father or friend — he was a rock, a source of wisdom and warmth, and a man who gave freely of himself without ever asking for anything in return.

Keith is survived by his children, Austin Keith Jennings, Chris Jennings McGarey, and Jonathan Currie, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he was very proud of. He was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Barry "Bo" Jennings and Louis Randy Jennings.

A graveside service to celebrate Keith's life will be held at 2:00 PM on October 26, 2025, at Briar Fork Primitive Baptist Church in Hazel Green, Alabama.

Keith Jennings will forever be remembered as a man whose heart knew no bounds — kind, selfless, and full of love. To know him was to love him, and to be loved by him was a blessing beyond measure. His laughter, his stories, and his gentle strength will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
