David Howard Blackwood, 86, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Mr. Blackwood is survived by his wife, Barbara Blackwood; children, Terri Daniel, Scott Daniel (Cindy), Glenn Blackwood (Kristin), and Kelly Blackwood; Nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Laney (Charlie).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Evelyn Blackwood; his daughter, Karen Rogers; and his siblings, Shirley Cope and Billie Nix.

David proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He retired from Redstone Arsenal after many years of faithful service.  During retirement, David enjoyed golfing and bowling.  He also worked part-time at National Car Rental to help occupy his time.  During football season, you could find him cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 10:00 to 12:00 pm.  A graveside will be held at 12:30 pm at Maple Hill Cemetery.
