David Philip Hagar, 38, passed away on February 24, 2026, at his home in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born on October 23, 1987, in St. Mary's, Ohio.

David is survived by his loving parents, Phil and Cheryl Hagar of Trussville, Alabama; his sister, Jennifer (Josue) Utreras of Orlando, Florida; his cherished nephew and niece, Joshua and Norah Utreras; his grandparents, David and Barbara Hagar of Dexter, Maine, and David Walters of Wadsworth, Ohio; as well as his aunts and uncles, Sarah (Ken) Everhard of Wadsworth, Ohio; Earl (Marta) Hagar of Brazil; Ronda Hagar of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Cindy (Alan) Quimby of Cambridge, Maine. He also leaves behind numerous cousins and extended family members who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Norma Walters.

During David's life, he lived in New Bremen and Cleveland, Ohio; Omaha, Nebraska; Middletown, Maryland; Kingman and Golden Valley, Arizona; Las Vegas, Nevada; Trussville, Alabama; and Huntsville, Alabama. In each place, he formed deep and lasting friendships that remained meaningful to him throughout his life.

David graduated from Middletown High School in Middletown, Maryland, in 2006. He went on to attend Metro Community College in Omaha and the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

David treasured time spent with family, friends, and colleagues. He was a lifelong Ohio State fan and had a passion for video games, cars, tools, and collecting and shooting firearms. Known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and infectious laugh, David brought joy and humor to those around him and was simply fun to be with.

Though his 38 years were far too few, David's life was a gift — a blessing and a treasure from God. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. The memories shared, the laughter enjoyed, and the moments spent together will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

A memorial service honoring David's life will be held on Saturday, March 7, at His Way, Inc. https://hiswayinc.org/about/huntsville-campus/ in Huntsville, Alabama, at 1:00 PM.
