IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Wayne
Turner
March 12, 1958 – October 10, 2025
David Wayne Turner, 67, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, October 10, 2025, entering his eternal home.
Born on March 12, 1958, in New Market, Alabama to Jack Turner and the late Rosa Turner, David grew up in Madison County and attended Grissom High School before relocating to Georgia as a teenager. It was there that he first planted roots, began a family, and welcomed his three children.
In the early 2000s, David returned to Alabama and spent 14 years working at Parkway Place Mall, where he formed many forever friendships. A special chapter began when he reunited with his high school sweetheart, Linda K. Coward. The two were married on October 10, 2018 — a day made even more meaningful as David passed on their seventh anniversary. Though their time together was brief, their love was strong. David adored Linda and fought valiantly through his illness to remain by her side.
A devoted University of Alabama football fan, David's love for the Crimson Tide was well known — rivaled only by his love for his wife and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Linda, who was his devoted and selfless caregiver throughout his illness; his treasured children Melissa (Derek) Ball, Dana (Austin) Logan, and David Turner Jr.; and his bonus children April (Kevin) Grove, Rachel (Justin) Neeley, and Joel (Karra) Patterson. He is also survived by his siblings Lynda Hereford, Jackie Alawi, Nancy White, and Bobby Turner, and by Mrs. Anne Ondrak, a cherished motherly figure who remained an important part of his life.
David will be affectionately remembered by his cherished grandchildren: Phillip, Jacob, Journey, Matthew, Mack, Kevin Jr., Lucas, Aaron, Kaleb, and Patrick, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will remember him with love.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to David's honorary nieces — hospice nurse Leslie and hospice aide Lacresha— for their compassionate care. A special thanks is also extended to David's loyal friend Don Harris.
In accordance with David's wishes, a private memorial will be held with family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care at huntsvillehospitalfoundation.org.
