David Russell Winkles, 93, of Harvest, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Geraldine Winkles. There are 5 children, Jeanette Sue Blankenship (deceased) and Tracy Blankenship, Sandra D. Lindsey (deceased) and Jerry Lindsey (deceased), Sharon K. Jameson and Danny Jameson, David Wayne Winkles and Kim, Lisa Gail O'Reilly (deceased) and Tommy O'Reilly of Chicago.

David and Geraldine went to Mississippi and got married, then moved to Chicago, Illinois. After working for Plating Service Company for 50 years, David retired back to Harvest, Alabama in 1999, and purchased their home in Harvest.

They have 7 grandchildren, Brian Blankenship (Ethel) of Virginia, Jamie and Mike Stewart, Michelle Poljak and Jim of Chicago, Nicole Cornado and CJ of Chicago, Megan Winkles of Chicago, Steven Ross Winkles of Elk Grove Village, IL, David B. Winkles of Elk Grove Village, IL, Krystal and Scott Blankenship of Evansville, Indiana, Phillip Lindsey and son, Dominick; along with many great-grandchildren.

David loved working in the yard and loved his home. He also loved holidays, especially Christmas, and he loved his family.

David's siblings were Marvin Winkles, Annie Mae Pascall, James Winkles, Mamie Taylor, Gladys Hale, Emmett Winkles, Willie Winkles, Isaac Winkles, and Hazel Alls.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Berryhill Funeral Home, with a service immediately following. Rev. Greg Tucker will be officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery.
