David Michael
Young
April 11, 1959 – April 22, 2026
David Michael Young, a man whose life was a vibrant testament to kindness, humor, and devotion, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama. Born on April 11, 1959, in Indiana, David’s journey spanned over six decades filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
David’s early years were grounded in the solid foundation of family and education. He embraced his youth in Huntsville, where he attended Grissom High School, forging friendships and discovering a profound appreciation for the world around him. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Auburn University, where he earned a degree in graphic design, a field through which he expressed his innate creativity and keen eye for detail.
His professional path culminated in a rewarding career at Yulista, from which he retired, leaving behind a legacy defined not just by his work but by the genuine warmth and integrity with which he approached every interaction. To know David was to know someone who was kind, loving, funny, and caring—a man who walked through life with a generous spirit and an open heart.
Beyond the office and the canvas of his professional aspirations, David found solace and joy in the embrace of nature. He was an ardent lover of the outdoors, often found exploring trails, conquering rocky heights through rock climbing, or navigating the challenging terrains on his beloved off-road vehicles. These passions were not merely hobbies; they were extensions of his adventurous soul, a testament to his restless spirit and unyielding zest for life.
David’s family was the center of his universe. He is lovingly survived by his sister, Patricia Pullam (Gary); his brother, Gary Young (Tim Holder); and a constellation of nephews and nieces—Jason Morgan, Johnathan Morgan (Jordan), Murphy Morgan, Mallory Morgan, Mabrey Morgan, Stephanie McCarthy (Marty), Steven Young (Kyla), Kayla Jarrard, Matthew Young (Madison), Samuel Young, and Seth Young. His legacy of love reaches further still through his great-nieces, Lauren Works (Ryan) and Hailey McCarthy, as well as great-nephew Briggs Grams, all of whom carry forward his spirit and affection in their hearts.
David was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert and Lois Young, whose memories live on in the values and love they imparted. He also carries the memory of his brother Greg Young, who rests before him.
As we reflect on David’s life, we remember a man whose spirit was as towering as the cliffs he climbed, whose laughter brightened the darkest days, and whose kindness was a balm to those fortunate enough to know him. His journey may have ended in this world, but the echoes of his love, humor, and adventurous heart will resonate through the lives he touched forever.
May David Michael Young rest in eternal peace, forever surrounded by the wild beauty he cherished and the boundless love he so freely gave.
