Dian Sullivan Oliver passed with her family holding her hands the morning of May 7, 2025. She passed away at home in her favorite room. Dian was born on May 1, 1942, in Longview, Texas. She recently turned 83 and was celebrated with many visits, flowers, cards, and cake. Her parents were William Paul Sullivan and Elaine Foote Sullivan. She was the first born but was joined later by a sister, Dana and a brother, Scott.

Charles Michael (Mike) and Dian were married on June 15, 1962, after dating for 5 years. They married in Longview, Texas. They have been married for 62 happy years.

Dian worked in various jobs, but became a homemaker when they had a son, Michael Dandridge (Dan) Oliver, born in 1965. Dan was born in Charleston, Illinois, while Mike was in college. In 1968, a daughter, Lara Kate (Katey) was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, while Mike was working on his Doctorate. When they moved to Huntsville, Alabama, in 1978, it was important to her and Mike to enroll their children in a private Christian school. Dian went back into the workforce to pay for their school. She was employed at NASA, BeautiControl, and Mayfair Church of Christ.

In addition to being a homemaker and being employed, Dian was active in their Church family in every place they resided. She taught ladies' classes, opened their home for singing, fellowships and led many ladies bible studies in their home.

In the 1990's. Dian learned to quilt and joined Tree of Life Quilters, a group at Mayfair Church of Christ. The group makes quilts for special events, and for members needing extra care. They now primarily make quilts to give to every family that stay in the Shannon House of Compassion. They have given over 900 quilts to guests at Shannon House, alone.

Dian was witty and fun, kind and warm,. with southern charm and a gentle spirit. She had many lifelong friends from various jobs and from Church, which is a testimony to the type of lady she was.

Dian is survived by her husband, Mike Oliver; son, Dan Oliver (Kami); and daughter, Katey Deasy (Kevin); five grandchildren: Drew Deasy, Chad Deasy (Ellen), Bret Oliver, Kasey Oliver, and Sara Grace Oliver; five great-granddaughters: Laila Shelton, Addy Deasy, Halsey Glenn, Dakota Deasy, and Azalea Glenn.
