Obituary

Donald Ray Folds, of Toney, Alabama, passed from this world on October 26, 2025.

Donald was a beloved son, brother, husband, and father. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant in 2006 from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. During his distinguished military career, Donald served in Iraq and Afghanistan, Tokyo, Japan, and with Marine One under President Clinton.

After his service, Donald continued his pursuit of excellence, graduating as a proud Auburn Tiger in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, followed by a Master of Science. He went on to enjoy a successful and fulfilling career as a Cyber Security Engineer.

Donald was a lifelong gamer who loved computer and tabletop games, and he never turned down a good game of darts. He loved to travel with his wife—together they visited seven countries, creating countless memories. Above all, Donald cherished his family, his dogs, and his cat.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Folds; stepfather, Ronald Penick; his Granny and Pawpaw Vance; and his Pawpaw and Mawmaw Folds.

Donald leaves behind his loving wife, Christina Hall Folds; his stepson, Wesley Bailey; stepdaughter, Whitney Bailey; his mother, Susan Penick; and his brothers, Brian Folds and Ray Folds (Michele). He is also survived by his three nieces—Cassy Schmidt, Hunter Folds, and Valerie Elkins—and four great-nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th, from 3:30-4:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, with a service immediately following. Burial will take place the following day, Friday, October 31st, at Alabama National Cemetery beginning at 11:45 AM.
