Doris Jean Griffin, 77, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. 

Doris was born on February 8, 1949, in Tulare, California to Lawrence and Anna Claudine Kermode.

She is survived by her daughters, Casey Quillman (Steven), Huntsville, AL, Stacy Ehrsam, Somerset, KY, and Trudy White, Huntsville, AL; sister, Mary McGill, Athena, OR; grandchildren, Mike Ehrsam (Rachel), Kennewide, WA, Cecily Gaddis (Lee), Somerset, KY, Amanda Wilbourn (Michael), Clanton, AL, Heath Ehrsam (Kamryn), Phoenix, AZ, Rebecca Quillman, Huntsville, AL, Jessica Quillman, Huntsville, AL, and Makayla Quillman, Huntsville, AL; great-grandchildren, Ayden Ehrsam-Getter, Somerset, KY, Dakota Quillman, Huntsville, AL, Owen Ehrsam, Kennewide, WA, Victoria Wilbourn, Clanton, AL, Elliott Ehrsam, Kennewide, WA, Richard Wilbourn, Clanton, AL, and Quinn Ehrsam, Kennewick, WA.

Doris is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Kermode; mother, Anna Claudine Kermode; sister, Charlotte Hudson; nephew, Chuck Ford and son-in-law, Sonny Ehrsam.

She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Doris Jean Griffin dedicated more than 32 years of her life to the nursing profession, serving her community with compassion, strength, and unwavering care. She began her nursing career at Hanford Community Hospital in 1976. Doris continued her calling at Sacred Heart Hospital, touching countless lives through her kindness and dedication to her patients. She later joined Central Valley General Hospital in 2007 before retiring from Corcoran Hospital in 2009. Doris will be remembered not only for her remarkable career in healthcare, but for the comfort, compassion, and love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
