Doris McClain Villar, 70, of Toney, Alabama, passed away on August 7, 2026. She was born on August 20, 1955, to Kenneth and Dorothy McClain.

Doris was a deeply caring and thoughtful woman with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. She had a special way of making the people she loved feel remembered and valued, often through the sweetest and most personal gestures. Above all, Doris was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her love for her children did not diminish as they grew older—it evolved. She remained a steady source of prayer, encouragement, and support throughout their adult lives. In words Doris once wrote herself:

“Motherhood doesn’t expire when they turn 18—it evolves. As long as I’m here, they will have someone praying for them, believing in them, and standing steady behind them. That isn't obligation. It’s love—carried forward for a lifetime.”

Those words perfectly reflect the way Doris loved her family: faithfully, intentionally, and without condition. Her children and grandchildren knew they had someone in their corner—someone who cared deeply, believed in them, and would always stand behind them. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as Nana—a name that carried with it the warmth, laughter, and love she brought into their lives.

Doris is survived by her four children, Tonya Thompson, Brian Thompson and his wife, Beth, Brad Thompson and his wife, Catherine, and Jeffrey Thompson; her eight grandchildren, Courtney, Nathaniel, Emma, Catie, Ella, Steve, Nikki, and Noah; and her siblings, Shirley Leas, Julie Vogias, and Dale McClain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Villar, and her children's father Steve Thompson and her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy McClain.

Doris will be remembered for her caring heart, her thoughtfulness, her humor, and the steadfast love she gave so freely. Though her family will deeply miss her presence, the love she carried forward throughout her lifetime will remain with them always.
