Dorothy Jean Fuller-Hamlett was born on December 9, 1948, in Madison, Alabama, to Lena Mae Fuller and Evans Fuller.

She grew up in Madison, Alabama. She attended Council Training High School in Huntsville AL. There, she married the love of her life, John Hamlett of 40 years who she raised three strong daughters with: Arvella, Debra (Charles), and Taraysa.

Dorothy accepted Christ at a young age and later reaffirmed her faith through baptism in her later years. She dedicated more than 30 years of service to Parker Hannifin, where she earned recognition for her work in quality control within missile defense before eventually retiring.

As part of her faithful walk with Christ, Dorothy was an adamant philanthropist who generously supported Christian ministries and charitable organizations, including TBN and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dorothy, affectionately known as “Dee” by her loved ones, lived a life centered on giving more than receiving.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Lena Mae Fuller and Evans Fuller; and her siblings, Gerlene Fuller, Milton Fuller, Linda Fuller, and Melvin Fuller and her devoted husband John Hamlett.

She leaves behind four grandchildren, Mekale, Dominque, LaDrena, and Micah; six great-grandchildren, Lily, Lilah, Lena, Nasir, Harlee, and Nekoda; and an expected great-granddaughter.

She is also survived by her siblings Mildred (Ivory) Williams, Mary (Alex) Langford, Evans Fuller, Thomas Fuller, Billy Ray Fuller, Levon Fuller, Bobby (Jessie) Fuller, Richard (Linda) Fuller, and her sister Denise. She additionally leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A loving and compassionate wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was never afraid to set boundaries when needed. A woman of poise, praise, and patience, Dorothy left a lasting imprint on everyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, coworkers, church family, and all whose lives she touched.Dorothy Jean Fuller-Hamlett, 77, of Huntsville, passed away June 16, 2026.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, June 24th at 11:30 AM at Meadowlawn Cemetery.
