Frances Marie Hovis, 91, of Harvest, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Mrs. Hovis is survived by her son, Larry McElyea ( Carolyn ); daughters, Angie Hovis and Jeana Hovis McDonald; grandchildren, Jenna McDonald Whynot ( Carson ) and Tyler McDonald.

Frances is preceded by her husband, James "Buddy" Hovis; parents, James and Jennie Hovis; and sisters, Norene Hillis and Patricia Cunningham.  

Frances is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, remembered for her warmth and kindness to everyone.  She was not one to put herself first; rather, she put her children, grandchildren, and those she cared for most before all else.  Frances was a woman of faith and believed in prayer.  She was known to ask for prayers often, and in return, she would also remember you in her prayers also.   She will be missed deeply.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, immediately followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 pm with Bro. Jerry Hovis and Floyd Henderson officiating.  Interment will follow at Green Valley Cemetery.
