Frances Swinea Sloan, 89, of Huntsville, passed away October 19, 2025. Born in Limestone County, Alabama on February 22, 1936 to James Baylous and Margaret Frances Swinea.

Mrs. Sloan retired from Sears Roebuck and Company after 30+ years in customer service and enjoyed being a volunteer at Huntsville Hospital for 20 years. She was a member of Jackson Way Baptist Church and her ladies' Esther Sunday School Class that was very dear to her for many years.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen Phillip Sloan (Melanie) and Mark David Sloan (Lori), two granddaughters, Dorothy Sloan Baker (Thomas) and Amy Sloan Anderson (Ryan), and five great-grandchildren, Lexi, MacKenzie, and Skylar Baker, and Will and Luke Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Baylous Swinea and Margaret Frances Swinea, her husband of 62 years, David Phillip Sloan, her son, James Timothy Sloan, sister, Margaret Ann Stuef, and brothers, JB Swinea, Frank Swinea, and John Swinea.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 23rd from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home. Service will be at 2:00 with Dr. John Pond officiating, followed by burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
