Franz Gunter Brewer, 57, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Franz was adopted from Augsburg, Germany by the Brewer family and came to the US as a child. He attended Huntsville High School graduating in 1986. He was a member of the Huntsville High Football team and basketball team.  He also had played violin in the youth orchestra.

After graduation Franz went into the IT business and became the IT manager for Byte Size.  He was always happy to work with customers hooking up networks, removing mallard or fixing downed servers.

Franz was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan and spent a lot of time with friends watching games.  His easy personality earned him the nickname Mayor McCheese.  He loved animals and hugged dogs and cats every time he saw them.

He counted many people as his friends and was loved by all who knew him.  He is survived by his brother Matthew, nephew Michael, ex wife Kelly and ex sister-in-law Dawn.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
