IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gaylor Bald
Miller
February 2, 1945 – April 30, 2025
Gaylor Bald Miller, 80, of Margerum, Alabama, died peacefully on April 30, 2025.
Born on February 2, 1945, in Sheffield, AL, to Guy and Vera Bald. Gaylor was the loving wife of Austin Miller for 52 years. After graduating from Florence State College, she taught at Buckhorn High School in Huntsville, AL. She later dedicated herself to being a proud homemaker while raising her two children in Douglasville, Georgia.
Throughout her life, Gaylor enjoyed volunteering. She gave her time to support projects such as Meals on Wheels and The Good Samaritan Center in Douglasville; and the Holmes Street UMC food pantry and First Stop in Huntsville. She loved home design shows, movies and politics. She cherished quiet moments and time with her family. Her Cornelius and Bald family heritages were a source of great pride and profoundly shaped who she was. She was a self-proclaimed Baptist-Methodist, having been baptized in a creek in Dennis, MS, at the age of 20, before dedicating more than 50 years to the Methodist church.
Gaylor is survived by her sister, Nancy Enlow (Dene), her children, Anna Miller Henson (Gary) and Christopher Miller (Alexis), and was known as "Nana" to her eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Austin Miller, parents Guy and Vera Bald, nephew Matt Enlow, and cousins Jane McKee and Jason McKee.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends from all stages of life. The family is grateful for the support and love from friends and family; and for the medical care received at Northside Forsyth Hospital and Huntsville Hospice. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gaylor Miller to First Stop
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd, beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Huntsville. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
