After graduation he enlisted in the Air Force where he learned his vocation as an air traffic controller. After discharge he joined the national guard, serving until the begging of the Cold War. While in the guards he attended Middle Tennessee State University earning a degree in business and education. He loved his job as an ATC and worked at the Nashville, Tn tower, Lexington, Ky tower and retiring from the Huntsville, Al tower. Until his last days, he never got tired of watching planes take off and land, he could not have had a job he loved more.

George will be greatly missed, he was a loving husband, soulmate, and friend with a big heart for 36 years. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He loved his Tennessee VOLS and was a season ticket holder for many years. His dream trip was to go to Ireland and was blessed to take that trip with friends. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their care.
