Gerald Patrick (Pat) Blanks, 84, of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 6, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born in Anniston, AL, on January 4, 1940, to the late William "Hugh" and Eula Mae Blanks, Pat was a graduate of Anniston High School.

He also attended Bible classes at Whitesburg Baptist Church, where he earned his degree. Pat worked as a machinist and retired after 23 years with Onan.

Pat was deeply passionate about sharing the love of Christ with others. A dedicated and faithful member of Woodland Hill Baptist Church, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, both within his congregation and the broader community. His love for the Lord was matched only by his love for Alabama football, and he was never seen without his beloved Alabama hat.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Gail Blanks, and his brother, Harry Hugh Blanks. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Blanks; daughter, Michelle (David) Hagler; grandsons, Ian and Evan Ivey; sisters, Peggy Holcomb of Anniston, AL, Sue Thornton of Huntsville, AL, Gene Blanks of Ohatchee, AL, and Ervin Blanks of Buford, GA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Berryhill Funeral Home, with a service following at 11:00 AM. Bro. Stan Mullins will officiate, with music by Richard Anderson. Burial will take place at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Davis, Danny Davis, Cody Williams, Tim Davis, and Cody Davis.
