Gilbert Wayne Clayton, 80, of Meridianville, Alabama born June 1, 1946 passed away Saturday September 12, 2026 after a battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Madonna Brown Clayton, his parents Luther Clayton and Mary Esther Tucker Clayton, and two brothers Max Clayton and Paul Clayton.

He is survived by one sister, Audra Clayton Eakens, sister in law Ellen Brannon and husband Gordon Brannon, and sister in law Marti Clayton as well as several nieces and nephews.

He retired as a Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy and then worked for Intergraph after leaving the Navy.

No services are planned at this time. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
