IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacqueline Davis
Fague
December 14, 1948 – April 15, 2025
Jackie was born in Charleston, WV, on December 14, 1948, to Jacqueline Ripley Davis and Robert McVeigh Davis. She was the oldest of five siblings. Jackie's earliest years were spent with her family moving about the "oil patch" of North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming where her father worked as a geologist. Most of her school years were spent in Newton Center, MA, and West Lebanon, NH, before the family ultimately settled in Memphis, TN. Jackie was graduated from Central High School in Memphis, and later became a Certified Professional Secretary. She was married to Dr. Sloan Young from 1974 to 1988. Their son Jesse Wyatt Young was born in 1978.
She worked for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) as a secretary and later an administrative and facilities manager on contracts in Memphis, Gulfport, MS, and Huntsville, AL. In 1996, she married Michael Fague, and soon after the couple moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where they worked on the construction of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Upon return to the United States and Huntsville, she retired to assist with the long-term care of both her mother and mother-in-law. She later did volunteer work for the Gurley Branch of the Huntsville Madison County Public Library, and the Huntsville Community Free Clinic. Jackie was an avid reader and science fiction enthusiast and a self-taught, skilled computer graphics artist.
Jackie is survived by her husband Michael Fague, son and daughter-in-law Dr. Jesse Young and Angela Barzizza-Young, grandchildren Ethan Young and Anya Young and step-grandchildren Alexander Fague, Anna Fague, Sarah Fague and Brayden Castle, brother Jonathan Davis and sister Jane Davis Cross, as well as beloved nieces and nephews Jennifer Davis, Rachel Kohr, Jake McCarthy, Shelby Davis, and Robert Davis. Jackie was predeceased by her parents, brother Jeffery Davis and sister Julia Davis Williams.
A memorial service will be held for Jackie on Sunday, April 27, at 2:00 PM in Murray Hall at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. There will be an inurnment at a later date in Orlando, FL.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation Lee Coggins Fund in support of women with gynecological cancer. The family is immensely grateful for the professional and loving care received from the doctors, nurses and staff of the Huntsville Hospital's Tennessee Valley Gynecologic Oncology, Outpatient Chemotherapy Unit and Family Hospice Care.
