James Russell Brown, 87, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2025.

Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Butler (Troy); sister, Margaret Brannon (Gordon); brother, Charles G. Brown, Sr.; nieces, Elizabeth Brannon Warren (Jamel) and Stephanie Brown Acton (Keith); nephews, Darren Brannon (Chris DeCamillis) and Charles G. Brown, Jr. (Mary Kay); brother-in-law, Gilbert Clayton; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

James is preceded by his parents, Cleo and Madge Lovett Brown, and his sister, Madonna Brown Clayton.

Mr. Brown proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the Alabama National Guard for many years and was a Green Beret.  James had a special place in his heart for Huntsville and owned and operated a very successful real estate business for many years.

Services will be planned at a later date.
