On Sunday, May 29, 2022, Jim Goldbach, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 66.

Jim was born on September 20, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joe and Dorothy Goldbach. He grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida with his brother Joe. His passion was farming and all things outdoors, and he spent his free time at his family's citrus and cattle farm in Brooksville, Florida.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology with Honors from the University of Florida in 1977 and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Florida in 1981. He was in the state of Florida's first paramedic class and worked his way through medical school as a paramedic. While working on the ambulance, he met his wife, Laura, while she was in paramedic school. He completed his Family Practice residency in Huntsville, Alabama in 1984 and additionally became a board certified in Emergency Medicine. He worked in the Huntsville community as an Emergency Physician for 36 years.

He was a beloved coworker and friend to many, but the thing he loved the most was spending time with his family, preferably outside. More than a few times, he would check his kids out of school to take them on a hike at Monte Sano or a day at Southern Adventures on his days off. As much as he was a Physician, he was a farmer at heart. He always enjoyed working at the farm, mowing on the tractor, and raising the plethora of animals his wife and kids inevitably brought home.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Laura, and his two children Tyler and Crystal.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 1st at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville Alabama. The visitation will be from 1-2 pm and will be followed by a short service at Berryhill and burial at Maple Hill Cemetery to follow.
