James David Johnson, Sr., a beloved resident of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on February 6, 2025. Born on December 20, 1948, James was a dedicated family man and a proud veteran, having retired from the US Army. He also served his community as the Post Master for the US Postal Service in Decatur, Alabama.

James was a passionate supporter of the University of Alabama sports teams and held season tickets to Alabama football games for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Johnson, his children, David Johnson and Zachary Johnson, and his cherished grandchildren, Caitlin Johnson, Walker Johnson, Jordan Johnson, and Khloe Johnson. He is also survived by his mother, Ann Johnson. James was preceded in death by his father, James Madison Johnson.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Valhalla Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama.
