James Edward Quillin, devoted Christian, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the age of 81.

James was born on July 13, 1944, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Gus Quillin and Mary Winkler Quillin.  He has been a lifelong resident of Madison County.

Mr. Quillin was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He found great joy in serving his Savior, Jesus Christ.  James served his church for 28 years, the Maysville Church of Christ.  He was called to serve as an usher, at the Lord's Table, and on the mowing team.  His servant's heart and unwavering love for Christ have been a beautiful example of commitment and devotion to all who knew Jim.

Through Jim's career, he worked at Winn-Dixie for 30 years and at Redi-To-Serve- Chambers Bottling Company for 20 years.   He found joy in his hobbies.  He thoroughly enjoyed deer hunting and Alabama Football.

He is preceded by his father and mother, Gus Quillin and Mary Winkler Quillin.

James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lynette Quillin; brother, Mike Quillin (Jan); sister, Margarette Bentley; children, Teresa Williams, James Quillin, Jr. (Tracy), David Ogle, and Kim Johnson (Charlie); grandchildren, Lindsey Quillin and Anna Reeb (Anthony), Ashley Powell (Brett), Hunter Williams, Sonja Williams (Christian), Aubrey Ogle, Tyler Johnson (Alex), Reece Johnson (Michelle), and Nicholas Johnson; great-grandchildren, Logan Powell, Lainey Powell, Liam Johnson, Kynsley Johnson, Wells Reeb, and soon to arrive, Oaklee.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, with the funeral service following immediately in the chapel at 2:00 pm with Steve Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
