James Floyd Terrell, 74, of Decatur, Alabama/Tanner, Alabama, died at home on November 28, 2013, going to be with our Lord after bravely fighting a long battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Gloversville, NY on January 27th, 1939 to Fred and Marion Terrell (Morehouse). He graduated from Troy High School, Troy, NY. He served in the United States Army at Fort Knox, continuing his service in the National Guard. He attended Russell Sage College in Troy, NY.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Patricia Collins (Terrell,) and brother Floyd Terrell.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joanne Terrell (Loveless). They were married on July 20, 1959.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law Richard and Susan Grumbir (Terrell) of Decatur, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Elizabeth Terrell of Archdale, NC; grandsons Jim Bishop of San Francisco, California, Tony Bishop of Ajijic Mexico, Jack Terrell of Jamestown, NC, Luke Terrell of Wilmington, NC; three step grand-sons, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim's professional career was that of a Director of Human Resources for over 40 years in the Pulp and Paper Industry. Upon retirement, they began living their dream - travelling with their RV fulltime.
He enjoyed hunting, loved competitive skeet shooting, and participated every fall at the NSSA in San Antonio, Texas, winning many medals and competed in the World Championships.

A celebration of his life will be held at Epic Church, 801 Fretwell Avenue in Decatur on Monday December 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with his family and friends.
