James Samuel Woods Jr was born on July 30, 1970 to Sam and Lillie Woods. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June, 20, 2025.

Preceded in death - his parents, James Samuel and Lillie Bea Woods; brothers, James Wilson, Larry Joe, Rickey Dale Woods; sister, Janice Darlene (Snook) Imler.

His faith and love for Jesus was strong! He cherished and grew his relationship with Jesus Christ every day.
He thoroughly enjoyed life! His favorite hobby was running/racing rc cars; although he would race anything with a motor from dirt bikes to race cars. His favorite vacation spot was the beach. He loved the sun and the sand! He was an avid Alabama fan. And he was so excited and proud that his son graduated from the University of Alabama.
His pride and joy was being a dad. He had so much fun with his son from coaching his little baseball games to going to their favorite rock band concerts. He would have done anything and everything for his son, and he did!

Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Kim; son, Brandon; brother, Ray (Donna) Woods; sister, Brenda (Jerry) Glover; sister-in-law, Tina Woods; brother-in-law, Ed Imler; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Claudia Hardy; a plethora of nieces and nephews; beloved pet, Rocco; and many dear friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the compassionate and caring staff at Southern Cancer Center and Hospice of North Alabama who cared for him during his cancer battle.

His favorite charity was St Jude. Please consider making a donation to St Jude or a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Tuesday, July 29 from 6-8pm at Winchester Road Baptist Church.
