Jason Randall Smartt, 51, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital.

He is survived by his mother, Joan Stewart Ray; grandmother, Clara Thomas Stewart; uncle, Rickey A. Stewart; cousins, Trent Stewart, Delon Stewart, and Jamie L. Stewart Petty.

Jason was a free spirit in his youth who did things "his way." After high school and a little college, he hitched a ride to Berkeley, California, because he felt he had to go. He then traveled to New York and, later, New Orleans.

He was a punk rocker and a die-hard skateboarder.  Bandito Burrito was his kind of people.

Jason accepted the lord in his younger years.  I hold to that and believe he is safe in the arms of Jesus.  John 3:16.

Per Jason's wishes, he will be cremated, and a private graveside will be held.
